Exploring 360 Video with Final Cut Pro and Keyboard Maestro

On one of my road trips this summer I went to Portland, I recorded a bunch of stuff with the Incomparable hosts—we had a big get-together. And I had this idea, which was how do you do something that’s not particularly invasive, but allows you to capture video and make a video podcast out of it, when it’s just people sitting around a table or sitting around in a circle.

And I decided that what I wanted to do was buy a 360 video camera and figure it out. A 360 video camera, you put it in the center of the room and it’s fairly small and you press record and you record a podcast. And after the fact, you can merge the audio and the video and make it look like a bunch of cameras were there, even though there was only one. And it turns out this worked pretty well.
